Before you book
Empty legs and your membership
Included empty legs are the heart of Signature and Reserve. They are real repositioning flights, so they come with the operator's schedule attached.
What an empty leg is
A one-way repositioning flight. An operator has to move an aircraft to pick up its next paying trip, and offers that flight at a reduced price. You get the whole aircraft, on the operator's route and timing.
Subject to the operator's availability
Every empty leg depends on the operator's schedule and the trip behind it. Legs are first come, first served, and a leg is only yours once the operator confirms it in writing.
Can change or cancel — even last minute
If the operator's underlying trip moves or cancels, the empty leg can change time, change aircraft or be cancelled, sometimes right before departure. Weather, air traffic control, maintenance and crew duty limits can also delay or cancel a flight.
If it's cancelled
Anything you paid for the unperformed flight is refunded in full. Velaire will work to find another empty leg or a charter at the price then available. For a trip you can't miss, keep a backup plan or book an on-demand charter.
Your membership gives you access to posted empty legs and member pricing. It is not a flight credit and does not guarantee that a specific route, date or aircraft will be available. Included legs cost you $0, so a cancelled included leg has nothing to refund.
Velaire Aviation LLC is an air charter broker under DOT 14 C.F.R. Part 295 and does not operate aircraft. Each flight is operated by an FAA Part 135 operator, which has sole and exclusive operational control, including whether and when a flight departs, and may substitute an aircraft of the same or a comparable category. Velaire Aviation is an air charter broker and not a direct air carrier. We do not own or operate aircraft and do not maintain operational control of any flight. All charter flights are performed by properly licensed, FAA-certificated direct air carriers exercising full operational control, and are subject to U.S. Department of Transportation regulations, including escrow and disclosure requirements where applicable. Estimates are indicative starting prices, excluding taxes and fees; exact quotes are issued in writing by a licensed broker.
Empty legs are subject to availability and may change or cancel without notice. Membership is not a flight credit, deposit, or guarantee of aircraft availability. Discounts apply to Velaire's quoted charter price. Membership fees are non-refundable except as stated in the Refund Policy.
